Trojan student-athletes share holiday cheer with neighborhood children

President Folt joins USC basketball players in handing out more than $150,000 in donated gifts.

USC Athletics teamed up with the retail distribution firm Grant & Bowman and the Will & Jada Smith Family Foundation to donate over $150,000 worth of toys to boys and girls in the local community. USC student-athletes from the men’s and women’s basketball teams handed out toys following their games against Long Beach State.

“It’s an honor and joy for the Trojan Outreach program to impact the lives of so many deserving kids during the holiday season,” said McCall Hall, director of community outreach for USC Athletics, “It’s a time of giving back and understanding their own blessings, especially to represent USC.”

The annual event is made possible through partnerships with the Los Angeles Unified School District, the mayor”s office and Girls Play L.A. Over 1,500 children were able to enjoy a men’s or women’s basketball game and received some holiday cheer post-game when they received their wrapped toy.
