At USC, our commitment to the education of our community is evident through our investment in comprehensive programs and initiatives catering to students from pre-K through high school and beyond, including college preparatory courses, reading readiness tutoring, in-depth on-campus programs, and workforce development. We reinforce our belief in the benefits of higher education by providing our neighborhoods with quality resources.

USC is committed to helping the youngest members of our community thrive academically. Several early childhood centers serve the families of USC’s surrounding neighborhoods. More help is available early in the elementary school journey: in one program, USC and local students tutor kinder- to third-graders in reading and writing.

We offer a variety of initiatives designed to prepare middle- and high-schoolers for college. These initiatives involve rigorous academic programs of study, often held on the USC campus. The programs also involve caregivers in the college search and application process, helping the whole family to create an environment where students can gather the tools they need to succeed in college and beyond.

From cradle to career, USC provides over 100 community-serving education and career opportunities for thousands of neighborhood students in the University Park and Health Sciences Campus communities. We partner with LAUSD educators and community organizations to support students both inside and outside of the classroom.
