CBS featured the the Science, Technology, and Research program (STAR) which gives high school students at Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School in Lincoln Heights the opportunity to conduct real life research.
Each year, about 20 high school students in their junior or senior year participate in the program, which was founded nearly 30 years ago by Dr. Roberta Brinton.
“They are conducting research that is contributing to discovering a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, for cancer, for developmental disorders,” said Brinton.
