Youth Safety Festival and Basketball Game

LAPD & LAFD 5th annual Safe Summer Tip-off is a day-long community event at USC that will include pre-game activities to build unity among youth, appearances by celebrity guests, entertainment, a complimentary lunch, and opportunities to learn more about the two departments and our community partners.

Also featured at the FREE event is a spirited basketball game between LAPD officers and firefighters from the LAFD.  Tipping off the game will be at 12:30 p.m.

Team Captains Chief Charlie Beck and Fire Chief James Featherstone.

In addition, this is a great opportunity for Dad’s to celebrate Father’s Day weekend with their kids.  Not only will every child have the opportunity to win great raffle prizes, every Dad will also have the opportunity to win.

It is anticipated that 5,000 or more children and their families will attend this annual event.

The LAPD and LAFD are partnering with KIND Healthy Snacks to share our commitment to improving the quality of life for the people we serve and encourage acts of Kindness. 

The “KIND Movement” with KIND Healthy Snacks is a simple way to bring our community together by surprising others with unexpected acts of kindness.  Big act or small, the LAPD & LAFD encourages respect and kindness for others,  making a donation to a local charity, displaying good sportsmanship, volunteering time to help others, taking ta moment to say “thank you” or offering a flower to a friend or stranger.   Taking good care of one’s health is also a great act of kindness.
