Underscoring the importance of early literacy for children, especially minority boys, to be successful in all aspects of life, Kinder to College enrolls kindergarten boys in an initiative that prepares them to be proficient in reading and writing by the end of third grade.

Both USC and local students mentor the children every Saturday in a curriculum centered around exciting, interesting, game-based learning exercises. The program also conducts a seminar for parents to support and aid their children’s academic journey and build their confidence.

Call for mentors

K2C is currently recruiting mentors who can dedicate 2 hours every other Saturday through June 2018.
We are in need of more “Legend” mentors, a new program that matches a K2C participant with a community member who can discuss book themes and share life stories. For more information, contact Sean Taitt.
