USC School for Early Childhood Education
Since its founding in 1970, the USC School for Early Childhood Education (SECE) has been an integral part of the university’s community outreach. Building on the belief that family, culture and community are the primary shapers of children’s values and behavior, 42 percent of SECE staff members were parents of enrolled children as of the 2008-09 academic year.
This photo shows youngsters at SECE’s University Park Child Development Center. Opened in 1973 and located at 741 West 27th Street, the center offers full-day, part-day and evening programs for neighborhood children.
