USC president C. L. Max Nikias, university first lady Niki C. Nikias and children from local schools show their Trojan spirit at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. In 2011, USC partnered with the Times to become the new host institution of the Festival of Books, one of the most celebrated literary and cultural events in Los Angeles. Festival programs included author presentations, book signings, musical and theatrical performances, and other family activities as well as a highly successful book drive that collected some 4,000 new and gently used books benefitting the USC Family of Schools and Target’s partner schools.
