Junior Achievement in a Day
Organized by Challenge for Charity, the USC Marshall School of Business’s largest student organization specializing in fundraising and volunteering, the annual “Junior Achievement in a Day” event takes full-time USC MBA students into Los Angeles-area public elementary schools to teach lessons on basic financial literacy and economics. To allow for maximum student participation, USC Marshall makes the event part of the instructional day and reschedules core classes. In 2010, USC Marshall students provided instruction to 86 classrooms at the Charles Barrett and 93rd Street elementary schools in South Los Angeles. Here, USC Marshall School of Business student Po Yu “Scott” Lin leads a class discussion on basic business concepts.
