Community Health Fair
Through the annual Community Health Fair, residents of Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights and El Sereno have access to flu shots and body fat analyses as well as screenings for cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension and osteoporosis. Participating students, faculty and staff from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the USC School of Pharmacy and the USC School of Dentistry also provide information about Alzheimer’s disease, asthma, arthritis, cancer, heartburn, lead poison prevention, mental health, pain management and sexual health in both English and Spanish. In this photo, taken at the 2004 fair, a neighborhood boy receives a blood test.
