Tutor Campus Center Construction
USC is a powerful economic engine, generating $4.9 billion annually in economic activity in the Los Angeles region and beyond and - as the largest private-sector employer in the city of Los Angeles - providing jobs for nearly 27,000 Angelenos.
USC’s expenditures also create non-university job opportunities for thousands of additional residents. During the 2007-08 academic year alone, university spending stimulated 19,100 jobs within the community. Campus construction represents a significant part of this job creation, as illustrated in this photo showing construction workers building the university’s new Ronald Tutor Campus Center, scheduled to open in fall 2010.
